VI Concurso Nacional de Pintura Ayuntamiento de Villaescusa opens call
The Ayuntamiento de Villaescusa has announced the sixth edition of its National Painting Competition, running until June 2, 2026. Established in 2021, the contest aims to support contemporary visual arts. Open to Spanish residents over 18, participants may submit one original work (max 200 cm on longest side, frame max 3 cm width) with free theme and technique. Entries must be anonymous on the front. A jury will select 12 finalists, notified June 11–13, 2026. Selected works must be delivered June 15–22, 2026 to Centro Multiusos in La Concha de Villaescusa. Prizes: €4,000 (first), €2,500 (second, funded by Fundación Cantabria Labs), and €1,500 (third, for Cantabria-born or resident artists). First and second prize works enter the Ayuntamiento and Fundación collections respectively. An exhibition of finalists runs June 26–July 30, 2026 at the Ayuntamiento's Sala de Exposiciones. The jury may award an honorary mention without monetary prize.
