Vestire il Teatro 3: Elena Mannini's Costumes for Franco Enriquez at Sirolo

The exhibition 'Vestire il Teatro 3' at Sirolo's Teatro Cortesi and Teatro Studio San Lorenzo (July 15–August 30, 2026) showcases costumes, sketches, fabric samples, photographs, and production documents from the archive of costume designer Elena Mannini. Curated by Paolo Larici, the show is promoted by the Centro Studi Drammaturgici Internazionali Franco Enriquez as part of the 22nd Premio Nazionale Franco Enriquez Città di Sirolo. The materials, donated by the Mannini family in 2024 and restored by the Archivio Dall'Orto-Mannini, highlight the collaboration between Mannini and director Franco Enriquez, which began in 1974 at the Teatro di Roma. A centerpiece is the armor designed for Tullio Aufidio in Shakespeare's Coriolanus (1975–76 season), made by Sartoria Russo, and worn by Osvaldo Ruggeri. The exhibition also documents their work at the Residenztheater in Munich and on Aeschylus's Oresteia. The display emphasizes how Mannini's costumes were integral to performance, shaping actors' movements and embodying dramatic meaning. The permanent Fondo Elena Mannini at Sirolo aims to preserve this heritage and support future research and training.
