Veronica Paretta's New Works at Galleria Macca in Cagliari

exhibition · 2026-05-05

The exhibition, curated by Efisio Carbone and Roberta Vanali, presents five canvases created specifically for the solo show of young Cagliari-born artist Veronica Paretta (b. 1986). In her works, raw canvases contain tangles of lines, dots, and color that concentrate the essence of the work, with tributaries branching out toward the support space. Thin, nervous lines alternate with incredible softness of broad, gentle strokes. The artist consciously distances herself from reality, as seen in two 2013 etchings showing a mysterious form that could be a nest or a Bruegelian tower, yet appears to float in another dimension, barely agitated by the current. The line is never straight but follows a natural, spontaneous movement like that of air, leaves, and life itself. The exhibition takes place at Galleria Macca in Cagliari.
