Veronica Paretta and Alberto Marci's Duality Exhibition in Cagliari
A two-person show at Spazio Invisibile in Cagliari pairs artists Veronica Paretta and Alberto Marci, both born in Cagliari in 1985. Curated by Ilaria Medda, the exhibition explores dualities such as good and evil, light and darkness, life and death, day and night, masculine and feminine. The artists created four large works on fabric and a series of small works on canvas collaboratively, with black dominating to allude to humanity's dark side. Paretta's sinuous, undulating lines aim to order chaos, while Marci uses bleach to dissolve contours, restored only through layers of paint and print techniques. The project reflects on the concept of dualism between complementarity and opposition.
