Verona University Opens First Diffuse Museum with Fasol Donation
On November 14, 2024, the University of Verona will launch the Museo diffuso del linguaggio contemporaneo, marking the first diffuse museum at a European university. This initiative is made possible by a generous donation of 110 contemporary pieces from collectors Giorgio and Anna Fasol, which have been on loan since 2019. The collection, titled Agiverona, features works by artists including Giovanni Morbin, Corinna Gosmaro, Loris Cecchini, and others, all created post-2000. The artworks are displayed across various university locations such as Polo Santa Marta and Palazzo Giuliari. Each piece is accompanied by a student tutor, while a group of seven professors, known as the 'Comitato del Contemporaneo,' supervises the initiative. In 2023, the university also introduced Contemporanea, a transdisciplinary platform to promote interaction between academia and society through various art forms.
