Vero Beach Museum of Art acquires Yinka Shonibare bronze sculpture

The Vero Beach Museum of Art (VBMA) has added Wind Sculpture in Bronze VI, 2025, created by British Nigerian artist Yinka Shonibare, CBE (b. 1962), to its collection. This hand-painted bronze piece, exceeding six feet in height, is part of a series that depicts fabric flowing in the breeze. It is set to be placed in the sculpture garden of VBMA's upcoming museum, which is being designed by Allied Works and Unknown Studio, with a grand opening scheduled for 2028. The acquisition was made possible through the support of VBMA's Athena Society, which annually votes on significant acquisitions to enhance the permanent collection.
