Vermelho Gallery Opens Solo Shows by Nicolás Robbio and Chiara Banfi in São Paulo
On May 14, 2022, Galeria Vermelho in São Paulo launched two solo exhibitions showcasing the works of Argentine artist Nicolás Robbio and Brazilian artist Chiara Banfi. Robbio's exhibition, titled 'Onde cabe o olho,' marks his ninth solo display at the gallery and creatively utilizes everyday objects to challenge spatial perceptions. Curator Clarisa Appendino explores the origins of these materials. Robbio, who has been represented by Vermelho since its inception, completed his studies at Escuela Superior de Artes Visuales Martin A. Malharro in 1999. Banfi's 'Take 3' emphasizes sound and symbolism in musical instruments, including her piece 'Elza' (2012-2022), which features 100 distinct vinyl records. Both exhibitions will be on view until June 11, 2022, coinciding with Vermelho's 20th anniversary on May 17. The gallery is situated at R. Minas Gerais, 350, São Paulo.
