Ventura Lambrate Ends, Ventura Future Launches at FuturDome for Milan Design Week 2018

Organization in Design, the Dutch studio behind Ventura Lambrate, has announced the end of its northeast Milan district, which had been a hub for experimental young design and school showcases since its inception. Citing fatigue and gentrification in the Lambrate area, the studio is launching Ventura Future at FuturDome, a museum-housing hybrid at Via Paisiello 6 that was the last gathering place of Italian futurists. The new district, named Ventura-Future, will maintain a focus on emerging designers and introduce a prize for the most audacious talents. A call for entries was launched with a deadline of December 12, 2017. The move reflects a nomadic strategy by Ventura Projects, which has replicated its format in New York, Berlin, London, Belgium, and soon Dubai. FuturDome, conceived by Isisuf (International Institute of Futurism Studies) with artistic direction by Atto Belloli Ardessi, hosts domestic spaces for contemporary art, including private apartments and event areas. The programming for Ventura Future will include a jury of international design critics and support from selected companies. Isisuf, founded in Milan in 1959, plans at least four museum-level exhibitions annually but never reveals them in advance to allow for site-specific, long-term artist relationships.
