Venice Venice Hotel Opens in Restored Palazzo with Contemporary Art Collection

The Venice Venice Hotel, founded by Alessandro and Francesca Gallo (co-founders of Golden Goose), opened in February 2022 in two restored historic palazzos near the Rialto Bridge: Ca' da Mosto and Ca' Dolfin. The project, initiated in 2017, emphasizes postvenezianità, a concept blending Venetian heritage with contemporary art and design. The hotel features 45 guest rooms, a restaurant, cocktail bar overlooking the Grand Canal, Art Spa, event spaces, and a Bitter Club. Its art collection spans seventy years, including works by Francesco Simeti, Pol Polloniato, Fabio Viale, Igor Mitoraj, Renato D'Agostin, Joseph Beuys, Giuseppe Chiari, Jannis Kounellis, Gilberto Zorio, Luciano Fabro, Alighiero Boetti, Hanne Darboven, Arnulf Rainer, and groups like Superstudio and Studio 9999. Murano glass chandeliers by Venini adorn the piano nobile. The M'Art café-restaurant and concept store in Cannaregio serves Venetian cuisine, with plans to expand into adjacent shops. The Gallos aim to revitalize a previously degraded area.
