Venice September 2025: Dance and Performance Events

Venice continues its September cultural season with a focus on dance and performance, offering alternatives to film and art premieres. Key events include the fifth edition of Venere in Teatro at Forte Marghera (September 1–21), curated by APS Live Arts Culture in collaboration with Perypezye Urbane, featuring 19 companies and artists exploring themes of decay, evolution, and variation. Highlights include Paola Lattanzi's 'Pink Motel' (2025), Michael Incarbone's 'FALLEN ANGELS' (2024), and Daniele Ninarello's 'NOBODY NOBODY NOBODY. It's ok not to be ok' (2022) in partnership with Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia. The second week includes Ida Malfatti, Chiara Cecconello, CollettivO CineticO, and Finnish duo Recovery Lab. The third week features Chiara Frigo and Francesca Santamaria, plus talks and screendance. On September 9, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection hosts 'Avvenimento #3', curated by Edoardo Lazzari, with performances by Luca Gerry Conte, Royal Divorce, Rac Montoro, Teodora Grano, Annamaria Ajmone, Fabio Quaranta, and Sofia Naglieri, exploring processuality and the artist's studio. Scuola Piccola Zattere presents two events: on September 18, Luca Scarlini's lecture 'Gli occhi della notte' on magical practices; on September 26, Gaëlle Choisne's musical performance 'AURA' with Daniele Morelli, part of her ongoing project 'Temple of Love. Coeur' (since 2018).
