Venice Floating Cinema Returns in 2025 with New Mooring and Expanded Program
The floating cinema, Cinema Galleggiante ~ Acque Sconosciute, will make its sixth appearance in Venice from August 22 to September 7, 2025, anchored near Sacca Fisola island. Attendees can enjoy screenings, live performances, and music, all accessible via rowboat. Established by Edoardo Aruta and Paolo Rosso, the festival has collaborated with over 90 organizations and showcased more than 300 films. The lineup for 2025 features shadow theater, silent films accompanied by live soundtracks, and digital art. New collaborators include Centre d'Art Contemporain Genève. Notable events comprise a live Nosferatu screening on September 6 and a closing program on September 7, while the Convivio Acquatico food service will also return, with tickets available for purchase online.
