Venice community project in San Francesco della Vigna launches March 14
A cultural heritage project is set to launch on March 14, 2025, in the San Francesco della Vigna area of Venice, focusing on safeguarding local identity and intangible cultural aspects by engaging the community. This initiative is coordinated by Associazione San Francesco della Vigna, Museo di Palazzo Grimani, and Convento di San Francesco della Vigna, with backing from Fondazione di Venezia. Planned activities include a guided tour and three projects aimed at vulnerable populations. 'Viaggio nel tempo' will provide an accessible journey through important locations, while a creative writing workshop will publicly share personal memories. Additionally, a theater lab, directed by Mattia Berto's Teatro di Cittadinanza, will create a performance. Marianna Bressan and Susanna Ampò highlight the project's importance in social engagement and memory conservation. The district's history dates back to 1253.
