Venice Biennale artists dominate Frieze New York with works spanning painting, sculpture, and archival photography

Frieze New York 2026 featured a strong contingent of artists also showing at the Venice Biennale. Precious Okoyomon, representing the Holy See Pavilion in Venice, presented four works on paper in custom wood frames at Mendes Wood DM, priced undisclosed. Alma Allen, the US representative at the Venice Biennale, showed a bronze wall-mounted sculpture at Perrotin, priced $30,000–$50,000. Nabil Nahas offered an acrylic-on-canvas wall sculpture at Lawrie Shabibi and P420 for $45,000, exploring fractal natural forms. Dayanita Singh, invited to photograph at the Archivio di Stato di Venezia, displayed a column of 20 photographs from her Venice show at Frith Street Gallery, with works priced $25,000–$150,000. Alvaro Barrington presented three burlap paintings at Emalin, each $100,000–$200,000, depicting Jab Jab devils from Caribbean Carnival culture, alongside a sculpture by Sung Tieu, Germany's Venice Biennale representative. Paulo Nazareth showed a resin-gamela work at Stevenson for $20,000, encasing contemporary food items. Carolina Caycedo exhibited two cosmo-nets at Instituto de Visión, each $30,000, made by fishers and dyed by the artist, highlighting dam-building impacts.
