Venice Biennale 2026: In Minor Keys Opens at Giardini

The 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, titled "In Minor Keys," opened in the Giardini on May 7, 2026. The exhibition runs through November 22, 2026. Curated by Adriano Pedrosa, the show features over 200 artists from 50 countries, with a focus on underrepresented voices and non-Western art. The Giardini pavilions include national presentations from 30 countries, including a new pavilion for the Republic of Benin. Highlights include a site-specific installation by El Anatsui, a retrospective of Anna Boghiguian, and a performance series by Tania Bruguera. The exhibition explores themes of migration, climate change, and decolonization. The Arsenale section, also curated by Pedrosa, continues the theme with additional artists and installations.
