Venia Dimitrakopoulou's Futuro Primordiale at Museo Salinas in Palermo

exhibition · 2026-05-04

Venia Dimitrakopoulou, an artist from Athens, presents a wide selection of sculptures, papers, and installations at the Museo Archeologico Regionale Antonino Salinas in Palermo, some shown for the first time in Italy. The exhibition, titled Futuro Primordiale – Materia, is curated by Matteo Pacini and Afrodite Oikonomidou. It continues the dialogue between contemporary art and the archaeological museum initiated last June with Evgeny Antufiev's solo show. The works, including masks and lances in stone and bronze, are integrated into the museum's display, erasing temporal and conceptual distances. The exhibition is part of a trilogy that will continue at the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Turin (February 22 – March 31, 2019) and at the Civico Museo Sartorio and Castello di San Giusto in Trieste (April 12 – June 14, 2019).
