Venetian Wine Bar Vino Vero Launches Art Exhibition Series 'Vetrina'

exhibition · 2026-04-26

Vino Vero, a wine bar established in 2014 by Mara Sartore and Matteo Bartoli in Venice's Fondamenta della Misericordia, has ventured into the realm of art with its 'Vetrina' initiative. This quarterly project, initiated in 2021, showcases site-specific artworks by ten different artists in the bar's window space, which also accommodates tastings and events. The first cycle (2021-2023) centered on nature, featuring artists such as Cosima Montavoci, Lorenzo Passi, and Marie Denis, among others. A catalog was created in partnership with Lightbox. Beginning in February 2024, the new cycle will highlight activism through the works of three female artists: Loredana Longo, Stefania Galegati (exhibiting until September 22, 2024), and Paula Valero. Additionally, Sartore reopened the historic osteria Bea Vita in May 2024 on Fondamenta degli Ormesini, aiming to serve as a cultural hub with music, book presentations, themed evenings, and art exhibitions. The first exhibition features Michele Bubacco's 'TOHOTTOHOT' (running until October 21, 2024), which delves into themes of conviviality and dialogue. Bea Vita will offer cocktails and traditional dishes with a modern flair, contrasting with Vino Vero's emphasis on natural wines.
