Venetian architect designs mini-museum for home display

architecture-design · 2026-05-04

Venetian architect Giorgio Zaetta has designed .pico museo domestico, a miniature plaster museum for displaying a single artwork at a time, created in collaboration with Milan contemporary art gallery ZERO and Padua-based company Plasterego. The project is part of House in Motion, the 2018 edition of the annual exhibition-event organized by Interni magazine in the courtyard of the Università Statale during Milan Design Week. The micro-architecture uses plaster, chosen for its low environmental impact and ancient heritage, reinterpreted through a contemporary hexagonal pattern inspired by Piero Portaluppi's Albergo Diurno Venezia. During Fuorisalone, the mini-museum will host three artworks in rotation by Cally Spooner, Enzo Cucchi, and Yuri Ancarani. The name pays homage to Renaissance philosopher Pico della Mirandola.
