Velvet Studio Turns Milan Factory into Brutalist Club DURO
A new nightlife venue named DURO has opened in Milan's Certosa District, designed by Velvet Studio led by Gianluca Bocchetta. This innovative spot reimagines an old cement factory and is the brainchild of Marco and Riccardo Augeri, known for their previous project DA ORIENT. The design combines elements of brutalist and rationalist architecture, highlighting the use of exposed concrete. Unconventional seating promotes social engagement, and the DJ booth is discreetly arranged. With lighting by ILTI Luce featuring geometric LED designs, DURO connects to the Kappa Futur Festival and various cities, including Turin and Lisbon. Music critic Tom Spooner emphasizes its daring approach.
