cultural-heritage · 2026-04-27

The Vatican Chapels on Venice's San Giorgio Island will reopen on June 26, 2020, featuring a new musical soundtrack composed by Antonio Fresa. The project, titled 'Vatican Chapels – A soundtrack experience', includes eleven tracks blending electronic timbres, piano, and synthesizers, created with beat maker Marco Messina. The soundtrack was conceived by entrepreneur Ilaria D'Uva and will be available via audioguide and digital streaming platforms. The chapels, designed by Portuguese architect Eduardo Souto de Moura for the Holy See's debut at the Venice Architecture Biennale curated by Francesco Dal Co, are located within the Giorgio Cini Foundation's woodland. Additionally, the San Giorgio Cafè will reopen with a menu by Filippo La Mantia, featuring dishes and cocktails named after the soundtrack tracks, accessible via QR codes.
