Vasilis Papageorgiou's Italian Debut at UNA Gallery in Piacenza

Greek artist Vasilis Papageorgiou (born Athens, 1991) presents his first Italian solo exhibition, 'It's 2 a.m. I am spilling it,' at UNA gallery in Piacenza. The show includes works previously introduced at miart in the UNA booth. Papageorgiou's practice explores spaces of gathering and leisure through sculptural compositions using Greek marble, granite, and metal elements. The exhibition features wall-mounted pieces like 'Straight Flush,' 'Four of a Kind,' and 'Full House' (2019), which fuse cards and chips into unified surfaces, echoing the abstract three-dimensional floor sculptures 'Footrest' and 'Lake I' that depict footrests and traces of human presence. Papageorgiou recently participated in the group show 'The Same River Twice: Contemporary Art in Athens' at the Benaki Museum, organized with the DESTE Foundation and the New Museum of New York, which opened on June 20.
