Vari Architects Unveils Organic Waterfront Village in Sanya
Vari Architects has completed the Sanya CR Land Haitang Bay Waterfront Center, a 2,000 m² commercial architecture project on the banks of the Sanya Haitang River in China. The design, led by Feng Pan'ao with principal architect Qi Fan and a team of project architects, responds to the local climate and landscape with a continuous village form and an undulating silver roof that interpenetrates with lush greenery. The project draws on the Japanese philosopher Tetsurō Watsuji's concept of 'fudo' (wind and earth) to harmonize with the tropical environment. Photographs were taken by Arch-Exist and Shan-jian images. The project is set for completion in 2026.
