Vari Align Desk Chair Review: Breathable Mesh Design Under $500

Vari, the Texas-based standing-desk pioneer formerly known as Varidesk, released the Align chair in March 2025. The chair features a mesh back and fabric seat cushion, combining breathability with comfort. Priced under $500, it offers adjustability including seat height, forward/back movement, lumbar support, and pivoting armrests. Assembly takes under 15 minutes with only three screws. The mesh is soft with a hammock-like give, and the headrest integrates into the chair's frame. The seat cushion is rated for up to 250 pounds. The chair allows leaning back up to about 20 degrees per spec, but the reviewer found up to 45 degrees on a large frame. The five-year warranty is average. The Align is a successor to the Vari Task Chair.
