Vaonis Unveils Vespera 3 and Vespera Pro 2 Smart Telescopes
Vaonis has announced two new smart telescopes for astrophotography: the Vespera 3 and Vespera Pro 2. Both feature all-new optical designs with a three-group, flat-field apochromatic quadruplet, promising improved resolution, reduced distortion, and fewer aberrations. The new optics offer better sensitivity across red (5%), green (2%), and blue (9%) wavelengths. A new optical baffle reduces halos from stray light in urban environments, and front lens defogging is now standard. Both telescopes include built-in real-time image processing, automated target acquisition via Vaonis' app, and support for RAW image data for manual editing. The Vespera 3 has an 8.3-megapixel Sony IMX 585 sensor and 115GB storage, while the Vespera Pro 2 features a 12.5-megapixel Sony IMX 676 sensor, 225GB storage, and can capture 50-megapixel mosaic images. Both weigh 5 kg. The Vespera 3 is priced at $2,490 and the Vespera Pro 2 at $2,990, both available now.
