Vanni Scheiwiller and Alina Kalczyńska's artist books on show in Milan and Venice
In Milan and Venice, two exhibitions delve into the realm of artist books, highlighting Vanni Scheiwiller (1934–1999) and Alina Kalczyńska (b. 1936). Scheiwiller, the grandson of sculptor Adolfo Wildt, established Libri Scheiwiller in 1977. Kalczyńska, originally from Poland, relocated to Italy and wed Scheiwiller in 1980. Their collection is on display at Galleria Brun Fine Art in Milan in "Fuori Testo" until November 25, featuring over fifty pieces, such as Guido Ballo's "La stanza" (1984) and Wislawa Szymborska's "Dodici poesie" (2015). Meanwhile, "How To Put Art In A Book," organized by Collezione Pinault, is available in Venice until November 19, curated by Leonardo Sonnoli and Irene Bacchi, examining the development of artist books.
