Vancouver Art Gallery mounts Canada's first major climate change art survey
Opening on May 14, 2026, and continuing until January 10, 2027, the Vancouver Art Gallery will showcase 'Future Geographies: Art in the Century of Climate Change.' This exhibition marks Canada’s first significant exploration of contemporary art's relationship with future climates on a global scale. It will feature over 30 artists and more than 35 pieces, including immersive video installations and living sculptures, highlighting pressing sustainability and environmental concerns. Eva Respini, Interim Co-CEO & Curator at Large, emphasized that while artists may not be scientists or journalists, they play a crucial role in questioning our future in a world influenced by climate change, making imagination essential and a form of resistance.
