exhibition · 2026-05-04

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) will present 'Vincent van Gogh: His Life in Art' from March 10 to June 27, 2019. The exhibition traces van Gogh's evolution from early sketches to final paintings, featuring over 50 portraits, landscapes, and still lifes. Key loans come from the Van Gogh Museum and Kröller-Müller Museum, rarely lent works. The show covers his early years in Nuenen (1883–1885), his time in Paris, his development in Arles, and his final period in Saint-Rémy and Auvers. Facsimiles of letters to his brother Theo accompany the works. MFAH director Gary Tinterow expressed gratitude for the loans.
