Van Gogh, Renoir, and Group of Seven Works Head to Auction in Toronto

On Wednesday, May 27, Cowley Abbott will host an auction featuring 70 artworks from notable private and corporate collections at its gallery located at 326 Dundas Street West in downtown Toronto. Prior to the auction, a free public exhibition will showcase exceptional pieces by artists such as Vincent van Gogh, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Emily Carr, Tom Thomson, Lawren Harris, and various members of the Group of Seven, with some works being displayed publicly for the first time. A standout piece is Renoir's "Paysage du Midi, c. 1900" (estimated at $150,000 - $250,000), marking a rare opportunity to acquire a work by the impressionist, which has not been exhibited in Canada for nearly 40 years.
