Van Gogh recital streams live from Padua exhibition

On October 30, 2020 at 9:10 PM, a theatrical recital on Vincent van Gogh will stream for free on Linea d'Ombra's Facebook page and website. The performance, strongly desired by Marco Goldin—a leading expert on the Dutch painter—is tied to the exhibition "Van Gogh. I colori della vita" at Centro San Gaetano in Padua, open until April 11, 2021. Goldin, also the show's curator, will read passages from his book "Van Gogh. L'autobiografia mai scritta" (published by La nave di Teseo). Pianist and composer Remo Anzovino, known for film scores on Gauguin, Monet, and van Gogh, will provide live music. The recital is produced by Videomedia with multiple cameras and mobile direction. Goldin promises an hour and a half of stories, letters, music, and images. The event responds to cinema and theater closures under Italy's latest COVID-19 decree, aiming to reach a broad audience via social media. The setting inside the exhibition, which features 125 works (78 by van Gogh), allows authentic artworks to replace traditional projections.
