Valerio Borgonuovo and Marco Senaldi Appointed Directors of LABA Brescia

The Libera Accademia di Belle Arti (LABA) in Brescia has announced a dual leadership structure to replace Marcello Menni. Valerio Borgonuovo becomes didactic director, and Marco Senaldi artistic director. Senaldi, a curator, critic, and professor at Brera Academy in Milan, aims to expand student horizons and foster collaboration with local institutions, including the Brescia Photo Festival, during Bergamo Brescia Italian Capital of Culture 2023. Borgonuovo, an art history professor at LABA since 2015, plans to integrate the metaverse as a pedagogical tool under the concept of 'eduverse,' improve communication, and position LABA as a hub for technological innovation. He describes 2023 as a 'year zero' for the academy, emphasizing change and innovation to counter Brescia's provincial reputation.
