Valentino commissions Pinaree Sanpitak for ART Singapore

For the inaugural edition of ART Singapore, Maison Valentino commissioned Thai artist Pinaree Sanpitak (b. 1961, Bangkok) to create two sculptures and an ephemeral work featuring the Valentino Toile Iconographe pattern. The fair, which ended January 15, 2023, was the largest in Southeast Asia with 160 galleries and around 1,000 artists. Sanpitak, known for her breast-shaped cushions and exploration of the female body, combined soft sculptures with stainless steel Breast Stupa Topiaries (2013). The ephemeral piece, Breast Stupa Cookery Valentino, involved a menu by chefs Joe Napol Jantraget and Saki Hoshino, served from artist-designed shelves. The Breast Stupas Valentino remain on view at The Warehouse Hotel in Singapore until January 25, part of an immersive experience including steel structures and objects at The Den. Proceeds from the sale of the two sculptures will be donated to United Women Singapore for female empowerment and gender equality. Sanpitak's work was recently shown at the 59th Venice Biennale.
