Valentina Vetturi's Phygital Performance at MAXXI L'Aquila

exhibition · 2026-04-27

From November 27, 2021, MAXXI L'Aquila presents Valentina Vetturi's 'I Never Think of the Future. It Comes Soon Enough #2', a performative landscape bridging physical and virtual space. The work draws from the Cypherpunk Mailing List (founded 1992, 700 subscribers by 1994, 2000 by 1997), transforming its texts into a visual and sonic score. Visitors experience the piece both at Palazzo Ardinghelli and on the arium.xyz platform. The project inaugurates the Performative.01 Phygital series curated by Chiara Bertini and Serena Tabacchi (Director of MoCDA), featuring a talk with MAXXI director Bartolomeo Pietromarchi, the curators, the artist, and journalist Massimo Cerofolini. Future appointments include Miltos Manetas and Michela De Mattei. Vetturi, active in digital art since 2015 with a Master's in crypto and blockchain, aims to revive early internet debates on data ownership and digital identity.
