V&A secures £4m lottery grant for South Asia Gallery transformation
The Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) has received a £4 million commitment from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to redesign its South Asia Gallery, following an initial £250,000 development grant awarded in September 2024. The transformed gallery, set to open in Spring 2028, will showcase rare historic objects—many unseen for decades—alongside new acquisitions and contemporary works. Fresh research will address the colonial history of the collection, celebrating South Asian creativity's global impact.
