V-A-C Foundation Launches Venice Exhibition Space with Russian Avant-Garde and Contemporary Art Show
To celebrate the opening of its new exhibition space in Venice, the V-A-C Foundation partnered with ArtReview to produce a unique publication. This 68-page magazine was released alongside the inaugural exhibition, 'Space Force Construction,' which took place at Palazzo delle Zattere in Dorsoduro from May 13 to August 25, 2017. The exhibition showcased a mix of prominent Russian avant-garde art and contemporary pieces, featuring new works from artists like Barbara Kruger, Cao Fei, Irina Korina, and Kiril Gluschenko. The publication included essays by Klara Kemp-Welch and Sofia Gurevich, artist project pages, and an interview with V-A-C’s founder Leonid Mikhelson and director Teresa Iarocci Mavica, and was distributed with the May 2017 edition of ArtReview and at the 2017 Venice Biennale, exploring a century of artistic dialogue since the Russian Revolution.
