Utah Teen Zac Waters 3D Prints Custom Wheelchair for Toddler
Zac Waters, a 13-year-old from Utah, dedicated approximately 300 hours this summer to create a custom wheelchair for a 21-month-old girl. His motivation stemmed from MakeGood, a nonprofit that utilizes 3D printing to develop assistive devices. The wheelchair, designed in pink—her favorite color—features a tray table, a removable cupholder, and compartments for heavier medical equipment, as well as adjustable straps, footrest, and headrest to support the child's growth. Charlotte Waters, Zac's grandmother, highlighted that his youth does not limit his potential to effect change. Zac aspires to refine his designs to reach the proficiency of the MakeGood team.
