UrbanisMI Podcast Explores Regeneration of Milan's Ex-Scalo Farini

The fourth episode of Artribune's UrbanisMI podcast series, written and narrated by Maria Chiara Virgili, focuses on the regeneration of Milan's former Farini railway yard. The series explores urban transformation across Milan's neighborhoods, combining historical narratives with contemporary architectural projects. The Farini district, bounded by the Monumental Cemetery and the Ghisolfa bridge, has been shaped by its industrial past and the writings of Giovanni Testori. The ex-Scalo Farini, the largest of seven former railway yards targeted for redevelopment under a 2017 agreement between the Municipality of Milan and Gruppo FS Italiane, was decommissioned after the opening of Porta Garibaldi station. In 2018, an international design competition was won by the Agenti Climatici project, developed by OMA and Laboratorio Permanente.
