Urban art call for the metaverse in Piemonte

The Distretto del Novese, with support from Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Alessandria via the Terre Belle fund, has launched the Corto Circuito Creativo urban art call. The initiative aims to collect contemporary declarations of love for Basso Piemonte, continuing the project that brands the area as #ilterritorioromantico. It bridges physical and digital realms, combining urban art with the metaverse. From February 14 to March 5, 2023, submitted works will compete in the first geolocated virtual exhibition of street art, tied to the locations of romantic benches placed physically. A technical jury will select up to three winning works to be painted on a wall provided by a municipality in the Distretto del Novese and simultaneously inserted into the metaverse. Artists may submit digital-native or analog works that are later digitized; techniques are at the artist's discretion. The Distretto del Novese comprises over 30 municipalities in the province of Alessandria, equidistant from Turin, Milan, and Genoa. The call is open until February 3, 2023.
