Upside-down bus turned into swimming pool in France
French artist Benedetto Bufalino has transformed an old public transport bus into a swimming pool for his latest installation, The Bus Pool, in Artois, France. Known for his playful and ironic works—such as disco cement mixers, ping-pong tables on overturned cars, mobile phone booths, and basketball courts in museums—Bufalino removed one side of the bus and all its interior to create a water basin. The pool measures 9 meters long, 2.3 meters wide, and 1.5 meters deep, with a ladder mounted on one side and a lifeguard station. It can hold up to ten people at once. The project was realized in collaboration with Euralens, a local development agency for the metropolitan area of Lens. The bus was sourced from the region's public transport system.
