Uppercut's 'God Speed' Transforms Chateau de Spycker with Contemporary Design

exhibition · 2026-08-12

Uppercut, a gallery located in Antwerp, has unveiled its fourth annual summer showcase titled 'God Speed' at the neo-gothic Chateau de Spycker in Sint-Kruis, close to Bruges. This exhibition runs from 30 July to 30 August 2026 and highlights the creations of six designers: Alexander Kirkeby, Nicolas Zanoni, Linde Freya Tangelder, Yoon Shun, Kiki Goti, and LS Gomma (the studio of Joel Muggleton). The works are displayed in three separate rooms, featuring standout items such as Kirkeby's glass vessels and Zanoni's furniture made from melted polystyrene. Scott Lippens, the gallery's director and founder in 2023, was inspired by the Fondazione Dries Van Noten in Venice. The villa, a renovated former aristocratic summer home by Lippens' mother, now functions as a guesthouse. Photography is credited to Jules Ange.
