Untitled Art Fair Opens in Miami Beach with African Art in Focus

The seventh edition of Untitled, one of the key satellite fairs alongside Art Basel Miami Beach, opened on December 5, 2018, and runs through December 9. Founded in 2012, the fair expanded to San Francisco in 2017. This year, 134 galleries present works spanning a broad spectrum of media and cultural languages, with a focus on African and diaspora art, as well as South American artists who emphasize craftsmanship and traditional techniques reinterpreted in a modern context. The fair's layout integrates with the Miami Beach pavilion and avoids excessive 'instagrammability.' European art is noted as less prominent amid the vibrant energy of non-Western creativity. The fair is held at Ocean Drive and 12th Street, Miami Beach.
