Untame Flow Stay Release Group Exhibition Opens at Temporary Gallery Cologne

At the Temporary Gallery in Cologne, the exhibition titled 'untame flow stay release' showcases a collective display and research initiative curated by Jussi Koitela and Aneta Rostkowska. This project unfolds in two interconnected segments, featuring contributions from artists such as Ren Loren Britton, Justyna Górowska, Anke Haller, Pia Lindman, Finnegan Shannon, Cecilia Vicuña, and Jenni-Juulia Wallinheimo-Heimonen, along with a research component. Designed by Jakob Engel, the exhibition's architecture reflects a concept that parallels the Rhine River, which traverses Cologne, with the gallery space. Both are seen as separate entities—one as 'natural' and the other as culturally constructed—yet both are significantly influenced by human actions. The Rhine has been modified for centuries through various means, resulting in a 'tamed' river under human governance. This exhibition invites contemplation on the themes of control, flow, and release, examining the connections between nature and culture. Currently, the show is open at the Temporary Gallery in Cologne, Germany.
