Unseen Cézanne Works Debut at Fondation Pierre Gianadda

exhibition · 2026-05-05

This summer, the Fondation Pierre Gianadda in Martigny, Switzerland, presents "Cézanne – Le Chant de la terre," an exhibition curated by Daniel Marchesseau, conservateur général honoraire du Patrimoine de France. The show assembles about one hundred works—eighty paintings (landscapes, still lifes, bathers) and twenty works on paper—spanning Paul Cézanne's entire career from the early 1860s until his death in 1906. Masterpieces have been borrowed from prestigious museums and collections worldwide, including the Musée d'Orsay and Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Several works have never been publicly exhibited before, while others have not been seen since the early 20th century. The exhibition runs from June 16 to November 19, 2017.
