Unreviewed 2015 Exhibitions: Worth, Kirili, Phillips, Tom of Finland, Katz, Bacon, Scully

Art critic David Cohen contemplates eight noteworthy exhibitions from 2015 that he never had the chance to review. From March 26 to April 25, Alexi Worth's "Green Glass Doors" at DC Moore Gallery examined voyeurism through depictions of secured renovation sites. At Art Omi in Columbia County, NY, a two-person exhibition featuring Alain Kirili's forged metal sculptures alongside James Siena ran from October 11, 2015, to January 3, 2016. Susannah Phillips showcased evocative landscape and urban paintings at Lori Bookstein, reminiscent of Milton Avery and Ferdinand Hodler. An extensive installation of Tom of Finland's work was displayed at Artists Space in SoHo and Tribeca from June 13 to September 13, 2015. Francis Bacon's late works were featured at Gagosian Madison Avenue from November 7 to December 12, 2015, while Alex Katz designed window displays at Barneys in spring 2015. Sean Scully celebrated his 70th birthday with a chapel installation at Montserrat monastery near Barcelona in June 2015, and the Galerie St. Etienne commemorated its 75th anniversary with "Alternate Histories," showcasing artists like Egon Schiele and Grandma Moses from January 15 to April 11, 2015.
