Unpublished Diaries Reveal New Insights into Fausto Pirandello's Life and Work
In 2023, De Luca Editori d’Arte released "Pirandello. Giorno per giorno. I diari inediti (1936–1973)," edited by Manuel Carrera. This volume showcases Fausto Pirandello's previously unpublished diaries covering the years 1962 to 1973, excluding 1972, along with a pocket diary from 1936. It also contains two letters from his sister Lietta, dated July 9, 1964, and July 20, 1965, sourced from the Archivio della Fondazione Fausto Pirandello di Roma. The diaries provide insights into Pirandello's artistic themes, technical aspects, and reflections on his later creations. The book was unveiled on February 5 at the Società Dante Alighieri in Rome, coinciding with the exhibition "L’Estetica della Deformazione" at the Galleria d’Arte Moderna di Roma.
