Under Two Suns: Erol Tabanca Collection at OMM
Eskişehir's Odunpazarı Modern Museum (OMM) showcases 'Under Two Suns,' an exhibition curated by Aslı Seven featuring 64 pieces from the collection of construction tycoon Erol Tabanca. This exhibition highlights a century of predominantly Turkish art, including works by School of Paris artists and contemporary figures such as Taner Ceylan and İnci Eviner. Notable pieces include TUNCA's 'Untitled' (2015), which challenges perceptions of history and identity, and Fatma Bucak's video 'Suggested Place For You to See It' (2013), where female villagers reflect on an unseen performance. The exhibition is thematically arranged across three floors: 'Mimetic Impulse,' 'Shore Scene,' and 'Light Memory.' Opened in 2019, the museum, designed by Kengo Kuma, is Turkey's first purpose-built art museum and a unique contemporary art venue outside Istanbul. 'Under Two Suns' is the Tabanca collection's first display since the museum's opening and runs until 28 July 2024.
