Umbria's Three Major Festivals Presented at Rome Press Conference

The three major festivals of Umbria—Spoleto Festival dei Due Mondi, Umbria Jazz, and Festival delle Nazioni—were presented during a joint press conference at Teatro Argentina in Rome, as part of the Umbria Experience territorial branding project. Catiuscia Marini, president of the Umbria Region, emphasized that through artistic quality, music, culture, theater, and dance, the cities can be brought to life. The festivals are deeply rooted in the historic centers of Spoleto, Perugia, and Città di Castello. The 59th edition of Spoleto Festival dei Due Mondi (June 24–July 10) features Robert Wilson interpreting John Cage's "Lecture on Nothing" and Jeff Mills presenting "Light from the Outside World," blending techno and symphonic music. The festival includes exhibitions of international artists with works related to Italy, such as Daniel Spoerri's bronze sculptures produced in Seggiano, curated by Achille Bonito Oliva. Other exhibitions include works by Maurizio Savini, Julien Friedler, Nicola Pucci, Pierpaolo Curti, and a group show at Palazzo Collicola, with satellite projects by Donato Piccolo and Elio Casalino. The art section concludes at Chiesa di S. Maria della Manna d'oro with "Scorched or Blackened?" by ABA Perugia, evoking Umbrian landmarks. Umbria Jazz runs July 8–17, and Festival delle Nazioni from August 23 to September 3.
