Ulìa Art Project Brings Contemporary Art to Puglia's Trulli

The Ulìa Art Project, a joint effort by Galleria FuoriCampo di Siena, Trullo Ulia, and The Art Syn, kicked off a three-day contemporary art festival in the Valle d'Itria, Puglia, from July 19 to 21, 2024. This initiative took place at various rural locations close to Ostuni, such as Trullo Ulia, Casale Madre, Masseria Mastro Antonio, and Palazzo Ruggeri d'Urso in Fasano. At Trullo Ulia, Davide Sgambaro (born 1989, Cittadella) showcased his solo exhibition REHAB, which included pieces like Whistle and I'll come to you (2022) and Rehab (2024). Marco Andrea Magni (born 1975, Sorengo) displayed site-specific works at Casale Madre, while the collective exhibition La Terra Muta at Masseria Mastro Antonio featured numerous artists. Giovanni Oberti's solo show Extra|Intra took place at the church of Contrada Piatone, and Remo Salvadori (born 1947, Florence) exhibited Nel momento (2015) at Palazzo Ruggeri d'Urso. The project sought to weave contemporary art into the historic backdrop of trulli and masserie.
