Uli Weber’s ‘Quid Pluris’ Exhibition at Palazzo Maresgallo, Lecce
Photographer Uli Weber (born 1964 in Ulm, Germany) presents 'Quid Pluris: lo sguardo oltre' at Palazzo Maresgallo in Lecce, curated by Paola Colombari. The exhibition, co-produced by collectors Miriam de Rienzo and Lionel Gazzola, runs in the 16th-century palace designed by Gian Giacomo dell’Acaya. Weber, who studied in Rome and found success in London with fashion and portraiture, destabilizes polished compositions by seeking mysterious landscapes behind them. Works include portraits of Lily Cole and Boy George (1993), as well as photographs taken during Italy’s first lockdown, such as empty festive lights in Leverano. The show will travel across Italy in autumn. Weber now lives part-time in Salve, Puglia, where his home resembles his photographs.
