Uli Sigg on Chinese Art Collection and M+ Museum Donation
On July 5, 2018, Uli Sigg, a prominent Swiss collector influential in the realm of Chinese contemporary art, will present at FM Centro per l'Arte Contemporanea in Milan during the exhibition 'The Szechwan Tale. China, Theatre and History,' curated by Marco Scotini. He will engage in a conversation about art collecting and museum partnerships alongside Elisabetta Galasso and Silvia Simoncelli. Sigg's journey in China began in the 1970s, and he became part of the Schindler Group in 1977. Serving as Switzerland's ambassador to Beijing from 1995 to 1998, he established the Chinese Contemporary Art Award in 1997 and contributed 1,500 artworks to Hong Kong's M+ Museum in 2012. Sigg remains dedicated to collecting and nurturing emerging artists, now including those from South Korea and Japan.
