Ukraine Reports Casualties Despite Trump-Backed Truce with Russia

other · 2026-05-10

On the second day of a three-day ceasefire facilitated by US President Donald Trump, Russian assaults in eastern Ukraine left at least nine individuals injured on Sunday. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky remarked that the Russian military is neither adhering to the ceasefire nor making any effort to do so, despite the absence of significant air raids. This ceasefire, which was declared on Friday, aimed to suspend all active combat starting Saturday and included a reciprocal exchange of 1,000 prisoners. While Ukrainian air force reports indicated a reduction in long-range drone strikes since the ceasefire began, injuries were still reported. In the Dnipropetrovsk region, a three-year-old girl and a 23-year-old rescuer were hurt in drone strikes, as per Governor Oleksandr Ganzha.
