Ukrainian anti-corruption authorities have opened an investigation into senior officials within President Volodymyr Zelensky’s office, intensifying political pressure as the war with Russia enters its fifth year. The probe, announced Wednesday, targets an alleged criminal organization reportedly led by a sitting and a former lawmaker, with links to the presidential administration. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office released a joint statement, promising further details later. The development came one day after Ukraine’s recently dismissed defence minister publicly demanded national elections despite the ongoing conflict. Zelensky’s chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, who resigned last year and was named a suspect in a separate corruption case involving a luxury construction project, remains a focal point.
